ROCK LAKE ARTS CAMP
Classes offered at Rock Lake Arts Camp
Art Class
RLAC Art Classes for kids are all about creativity! Kids use their imaginations while using a wide variety of materials, such as paints, wire, clay, and more. They explore techniques, colors, mediums, as well as, Appalachian cultures. Projects are geared toward specific age groups.
Music Class
Kids will have the opportunity to be creative and try a variety of music instruments. Sing, say, dance, and play! These elements are what make our music classes stand out. Song selections will be chosen with ages of students in mind.
Theater Class
Our theater/acting classes are designed to guide each camper through play and storytelling. The teachers encourage them to explore the stage through drama, costumes, and lines. All plays are written and taught by the camp teachers.
Choir Class
RLAC campers will discover the joy of singing! Students will gain choral experience, vocal fundamentals, and a foundation of singing that will prepare them for success in their future musical endeavors.
Movement
Participants will receive techniques that help to develop flexibility, coordination, strength, physical awareness, and body control. Don't be surprised if you see some square dancing with a theme like 'Home Among the Hills'.
Life Skills
Teamwork, collaboration, and communication...these skills are necessary for the success of children later in life. Some topics for this class are interactions with others, time management, healthy habits, and caring for yourself and others. This class was a new addition in 2016 and met with great success.
